Rural Essentials for Undergraduate Students

There are many opportunities at the School of Physiotherapy to experience the fresh air and freedom of rural life while learning about rural health issues. (For more information about rural health issues see the the School of Rural Health's Rural issues references for students)

Electives include the global elective at the end of third year, and both clinical and non-clinical electives in fourth year.

A popular non-clinical elective is the Rural Health Module that is done with medical students. Other electives are women's health, rural practice and rural research.

Core subjects can also be completed in rural settings including paediatrics and geriatrics. Information about this can be obtained from the clinical school.

To assist with planning for your rural placement, such as accommodation, see the School of Rural Health's Information for Students.
