Physiotherapy Professional Development Program 2006

New Report

A substantial review "Relations and rewards are key strategies in recruitment and retention of rural physiotherapists "(PDF,680k) was been completed in 2005. (This report is based on research initiated by The University of Melbourne as part of a larger project, and does not necessarily reflect the views and position of DHS)

Rural allied health undergraduate scholarships.

A new initiative of the Australian Government commencing in 2006. This undergraduate or graduate entry level allied health scholarship program will provide a scholarship of $10,000 per annum.

Cathy Nall, Gillian Webb and Kate Taylor visit Wangaratta & Shepparton.

Cathy Nall the Director of Physiotherapy at Austin Health and the current President of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Gillian Webb is Deputy Head of the School of Physiotherapy, The University of Melbourne where Kate Taylor is Undergraduate Manager.

They  visited Northwest Health in Wangaratta and Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton to discuss management and clinical education. This rural area provides clinical education for undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students and this level of support is very important for rural health professionals. The visitors are pictured with the colourful cow located outside the School of Rural Health Shepparton.
