Advanced Medical Science or BSc Honours ProjectPlease note: see also projects under PhD Acute effects of whole body vibration on static and dynamic balance Contact person: Dr Noel Lythgo, Prof Mary Galea Previous work has shown that low amplitude and low frequency vibration (26 Hz) of the human body is safe. This work has also shown that whole body vibration (WBV) increases femoral artery blood flow and changes the length-tension relationship of the triceps surae musculature. The aim of this project is to extend this work by examining the effect of WBV on measures balance and stiffness. |
