Getting Started for Postgraduate Students

Welcome to the School of Physiotherapy!

Online Enrolment

All new postgraduate students are now required to enrol online. You will need to allow at least one hour to complete your online enrolment.

Transition and Orientation

All postgraduate students are expected to attend the University's Transition and Orientation program.

For postgraduate students commencing in semester 1, 2008, the School of Physiotherapy PG Orientation Day will be Wednesday 27th February 2008 all day, with a welcome dinner in the evening.

International Briefing Sessions help international students to access the many services available through the University of Melbourne.

Timetables and Semester Dates

Police Checks

Organisations that host clinical students require a police check regarding their suitability to undertake a placement. Therefore enrolled and prospective students need to obtain and pay for police checks before commencing and during the physiotherapy course. Applicants living locally may print a copy of the "Consent to Check and Release National Police Record - Application Form" which is available from the Victoria Police website at: http://www.police.vic.gov.au/content.asp?Document_ID=274

For  details on the policy and instructions for completing applications refer to:
Faculty Policy on Police Checks (.pdf).

Subject Manuals

Many postgraduate subjects have a subject manual which you will need to purchase from the University Professional Bookshop, located on the corner of Grattan and Berkeley Streets, Carlton. Subject manuals are usually available a couple of days prior to classes commencing.
