• the applicant's ENTER - 96 or above

• performance in prerequisite subjects (study score of 35 or above)

New ESL prerequisite language requirements

  • What are the new VCE English as Second Language (ESL) prerequisite language requirements for entry into the University of Melbourne?

Effective for entry from first semester 2009, the minimum study score required by the University of Melbourne for students undertaking Units 3 and 4 English as a Second Language (ESL) in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) has changed. From 2009 onwards, a minimum study score of at least 30 will be required for students completing VCE English (ESL).
The minimum English language entry requirement for other VCE English subjects (English, English Language or Literature) will continue to be a study score of at least 25.
