PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPY SCHOLARSHIPS 2008
Hugh D.T. Williamson Foundation: Malcolm Menelaus

Due to the generous support of the Hugh D.T. Williamson Foundation, partial scholarships to honour the late Mr Malcolm Menelaus, paediatric orthopaedic surgeon, are again available for 2008.

The aim of these scholarships is to enable physiotherapists working in Victoria to undertake postgraduate specialist training in paediatric physiotherapy to assist them to meet the needs of children with physical disabilities and their families.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working in paediatric physiotherapy.

Scholarships available for 2008:

• Master of Physiotherapy by Coursework (Paediatrics) Scholarship available to applicants who hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Paediatrics) up to $8,700.
• Master of Physiotherapy by Coursework (Paediatrics) Scholarship up to $11,600.
• Postgraduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Paediatrics) Scholarships $2,900 each.

Eligibility

Scholarship applications will be accepted from physiotherapists who have applied for the above courses (full time or part time study modes are accepted).

Scholarships are only available to applicants living and working in Victoria.

Applicants must have current employment in paediatric physiotherapy. A support letter from your employer is a requirement.

Applicants will be considered if they are offered a place in either the Postgraduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Paediatrics) or the Master of Physiotherapy by Coursework (Paediatrics).

Academic merit will be considered.

Scholarships must be taken up in the allocated year.

All eligible applicants will be considered but preference will be given to those physiotherapists in rural or regional Victoria and outer metropolitan Melbourne.

Scholarship Application Process

Closing date for scholarship applications 31 October.

Applicants will be notified within 4 weeks of closing date.

Please complete the Scholarship Application form and submit it together with your course application.

Please also submit the following items:

• Your Curriculum Vitae (CV) including relevant work experience and evidence of continuing education.
• The letter of support from your employer.
• Your original or certified transcripts of academic results.
• A 300 word letter to the Scholarship Committee outlining your commitment to working in paediatric physiotherapy, your future plans, and your leadership vision for the care of children and thier families.
