About Us
The School of Physiotherapy's undergraduate and postgraduate programs are approved by the University of Melbourne Council via a multi-staged rigorous process. As a professional discipline, our programs are also approved by external bodies. The School’s undergraduate program has been accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council for the maximum of seven years. Postgraduate coursework programs are evaluated by the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
Accreditation
To gain accreditation for a program through the Australian Physiotherapy Council, an institution must demonstrate that graduates fullfill all requirements for registration as a physiotherapist in Australia. For more information see Australian Physiotherapy Council website.
Becoming a Physiotherapist
- From 2011, Physiotherapy at Melbourne will be offered at a graduate level only with the commencement to the Doctor of Physiotherapy. The last school leaver intake into the Bachelor of Physiotherapy was in 2009.
