Fees and Financial Assistance
Local Applicants - Commonwealth Supported Places
At least 50% of places in the Doctor of Physiotherapy * will be Commonwealth Supported. This means that they are subsidised by the government, and will cost students less. Note that Commonwealth Supported places are only available to Australian and New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents. These places will be awarded on merit.
The remaining places will be full fee. Information on current fees for University of Melbourne programs is available on the Australian Student Tuition Fees website. Tuition fees are reviewed annually, and the total course fee may be subject to change.
Youth Allowance and Austudy
Students of the Doctor of Physiotherapy * are eligible for financial assistance from Youth Allowance and Austudy. Please see the University's Financial Aid site for further information about Austudy and Youth Allowance.
Assistance with Fees
All places in graduate programs are eligible for fee assistance through FEE-HELP and HECS-HELP which are both government loan schemes for local students. The fees are deferred and paid as part of your income tax once a minimum income threshold is reached. Graduate Access Melbourne
Applicants of the Doctor of Physiotherapy * are eligible for Graduate Access Melbourne. This access and equity scheme provides access to applicants whose personal circumstances have had a sustained adverse effect on their academic achievement at undergraduate level or who are members of a specified group known to be under-represented in higher education. Information about Graduate Access Melbourne, including the eligibility criteria and application form, is available here.
The Graduate Access Melbourne application form should be included with an application for admission to the Doctor of Physiotherapy *.
International Applicants
International students are eligible for full fee paying places in the Doctor of Physiotherapy *. Tuition fees are reviewed annually, and the total course fee may be subject to change.
