Physical Activity and Ageing Research ProgramProgram leader: Professor Meg Morris Program Overview The key aim of this program is to generate new knowledge on the outcomes of physical activity and rehabilitation programs on the health and well-being of individuals in health and disease. As well as quantifying the effects of therapy programs and treatments, health programs will be evaluated in Australia and internationally and the reliability and validity of therapy outcome tools will be established. Knowledge transfer is another aim and the findings of the research conduced by team members is quickly disseminated to clinicians, health care organisations, patients, consumers, industry partners and the Australian community through workshops, seminars, conference presentations and publications. Research training is a priority with doctoral and post-doctoral opportunities in areas such as gait disorders in older adults, physical activity programs for older adults, physiotherapy for Parkinson disease, stroke rehabilitation and measurement of therapy outcomes.
