Master of Science (by Research)

 

The Master of Science (by Research) degree aims to provide students with the opportunity to carry out independent and sustained research in a branch of the sciences under appropriate supervision, to develop advanced research skills and techniques, and present their findings in documented scholarly form. The thesis should make an independent contribution to learning, or offer a critical perspective on existing scholarship or methodology.

Graduates with a science or applied science degree or its equivalent may undertake an Master of Science by Research (MSc) program in CHESM, which is one of the research centres of the Melbourne Physiotherapy School.  Students undertaking an MSc can apply to convert to a PhD if acceptable academic progress is made.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold an appropriate qualification in science or applied science, please refer to the Science Faculty web site. Both local and international applicants will need to meet English language requirements.
